Our MISSION
SONOSCOPE’s mission is to democratize the use of point-of-care ultrasound in critical care settings through the development and commercialization of innovative devices and continued medical trainings.
Our STORY
SONOSCOPE Inc. was founded in 2010 by two emergency doctors, Dr. Jean-François Lanctôt and Dr. Maxime Valois. They created a completely new approach for integrating point-of-care ultrasound in the context of resuscitation: the EGLS®(Echo Guided Life Support)
The innovative nature of their approach was recognized in 2011, when Dr. Lanctôt and Dr. Valois were granted the Innovation Award from the Collège des Médecins du Québec. The co-founders were also invited as guest speakers to lecture at the prestigious Harvard University on multiple occasions to teach their approach.
Through its workshops, its e-Learning platform and its numerous accredited trainers, the company trained more than 1,500 doctors across the five continents and now has thirteen international training centers. This illustrates how EGLS® is quickly becoming a standard of care in the practice of resuscitation.
This experience led the founders of SONOSCOPE to identify a crucial unmet need in acute care medicine, thereby giving birth to the company’s technological division.
In early 2020, the team of doctors completed the Centech’s (ÉTS) Acceleration program, which is among the 20 most successful university incubators in the world, and was unanimously chosen by the organization’s jury to join the Propulsion program.
